& Capital Punishment
Statement
Subject: NEPA DSA Marcellus Williams/Capital Punishment Statement
Date: 9/24/2024
NEPA DSA stands firmly in opposition to Missouri’s planned execution of Marcellus Williams, an innocent man facing execution for a crime he did not commit. The victim’s family and the current prosecutor have called for clemency, now denied by Missouri’s governor, @govparsonmo, a former cop. This impending act reflects the profound and deep-rooted failures of our “justice” system, an institution proven to act with blatant racial bias time and time again.
The machinery of death threatens to claim another innocent life. We must raise our voices against this travesty and demand justice for Marcellus Khaliifa Williams and abolishment of the death penalty and the entire prison industrial complex. One innocent life lost to a racist and corrupt legal system is too many. It could be any one of us facing death for a crime we did not commit.
